Paprika 4 sharing will need a subscription
Looking for a Paprika alternative?
Paprika is a good place to keep recipes. If you want to plan your week from them and share the list with your household without a new subscription, Culiplan imports your Paprika library and does that for free.
What Paprika does well
Paprika is a mature recipe manager that you buy once per platform. If you mainly want to collect and organise recipes, it does that very well.
Why people look around
Paprika 4 has been in open beta since late September 2026. Its new features, such as family accounts and sharing, pantry locations, social media import and photo scanning, will need a subscription after the beta. The price has not been announced yet.

| Photo scanning | In Paprika 4, among the features that will need a subscription | Free: scan a cookbook page with your phone camera |
| Bringing your recipes | Exports your library as a .paprikarecipes file | Imports that file with ingredients, steps and photos, on the app and the web |
Move your Paprika recipes in four steps
- In Paprika, choose Export, select all your recipes and save the .paprikarecipes file.
- Create a free Culiplan account. When we ask where your recipes are now, choose "Another recipe app", then Paprika.
- Pick the export file. Culiplan imports your recipes with their ingredients, steps and photos.
- On a computer, open Recipes on culiplan.com and choose Import from a file. A recipe you already have is not imported twice.
Nothing changes in Paprika. Culiplan only reads the export file.
What Culiplan does
Plan the week
Fill your week with your own recipes, or let Culiplan suggest dinners for the empty days.
One shopping list
Turn the week into a shopping list that skips what is already in your pantry.
Share it at home
Everyone in your household sees the same plan and list on their own phone.
Free, every feature
No paywall, no card and no ads. On iOS, Android and the web, in 13 languages.
What we can't do
Culiplan imports recipes, not Paprika's meal plans, grocery lists or pantry. Very large libraries can take more than one day to import, because of a daily import limit. There is no Mac or Windows app: on a computer you use Culiplan in the browser.
